Pediatric Assessment Frequently Asked Questions

Have a Question? Check Out Our Answers Below

We know that parents and kids will likely have a few questions before you contact us to schedule an assessment and evaluation appointment at Developmental Pediatrics. On this page, we’ve provided our answers to many of our pediatric assessment frequently asked questions. If your question was not answered below, please contact us, and we will be happy to answer any questions you have about our services, our staff, or your special needs concerns.

  • Developmental Pediatrics is a private consultation and fee for service practice, requiring appointments. Dr. Mike is a network-affiliated provider for the following insurance companies: BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Humana, and Tricare. We do not provide Medicaid or CHIP services, and we no longer file claims with Aetna, United Health, or Cigna Plus Local. If your insurer isn’t listed here, please email us. We’ll do our best to provide accurate insurance and pricing information. For those insurers we do not file with, we are happy to sign documentation that can help you receive reimbursement from some out of network insurers.

  • We welcome toddlers and kids from all of Texas, including Allen, Anna, Arlington, Bedford, Carrollton, Cedar Hill, Colleyville, Coppell, Corinth, Dallas, Denton, Duncanville, Euless, Farmers Branch, Flower Mound, Fort Worth, Frisco, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Hurst, Irving, Keller, McKinney, Midlothian, Murphy, Plano, Southlake, Waxahachie, Westlake, and all of North Texas and the DFW Metroplex area. We can also schedule patients who live outside of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, so please contact us.

  • A consultation or assessment appointment will range from 1.5 to 2 hours depending on the child’s specific needs. When we set up your visits, we’ll do our best to provide more detailed information and an accurate estimate of how long you’ll be in the office for each appointment.

  • Dr. Mike asks that you make an additional appointment to have him complete forms and draft letters. This ensures you and your child will receive his full attention during your assessment visits.

  • Dr. Mike is no longer providing medication management after diagnosis. Dr. Mike will discuss your options for medication management. He can also assist you in getting the appropriate medications, as needed, through referrals to your pediatrician or a pediatric psychologist.
